The Best Small Group Photo Trips to Cuba
About Us

EyeCuba provides customized trips to Cuba for small groups of 4 to 8 people. While we primarily create trips for photographers, that is not a requirement. Our trips are carefully planned to meet the legal criteria set forth by the United States Treasury Department while providing our clients with a safe, authentic, and rewarding experience.
Comfort is assured by utilizing a network of private services and approved providers to ensure a journey rich in culture and humanity. We seek out traditional experiences and unique and exotic venues that are representative of Cuba and its vitality. Our trips surpass the typical tourist itinerary, giving you an “En Pueblo” experience.
En Pueblo Experience
“En Pueblo” is a Cuban phrase that accepts and invites you into their lives, literally and figuratively. It is an invitation from the heart fueled by humanity, pride, and hospitality.
“En Pueblo” is the core and mission of EyeCuba experiences, placing you in unique photo-rich locations and events. We will provide the support you need to explore without the interruptions and awkwardness of larger groups while capitalizing upon the serendipitous opportunities that occur only “En Pueblo.”

Meet the Crew
EyeCuba was conceived by Kip Brundage and the late Jorge Gavilondo. It was the product of years of experience and a desire to make the touring experience in Cuba even more meaningful.

Jorge Gavilondo
The concept of EyeCuba was born out of discussions between Kip Brundage and Jorge Gavilondo. While working closely, producing trips and experiences for The Santa Fe Photo Workshops and National Geographic Expeditions, they conceptualized the types of trips they would like to create for the future. Trips that moved away from large groups in buses and hotels. With smaller and more intimate client selections, Kip and Jorge knew they could provide less touristy, more mobile, and much more personal experiences. Through careful and continuous scouting, new and more unique locations and venues could enable clients to have more meaningful encounters with the Cuban people throughout the island. Both of them wished for a Cuban experience, a Cuban crew, and to be among the Cuban people, “En Pueblo.” Thus, EyeCuba was born as COVID-19 arrived, and most unfortunately, a terminal illness for Jorge.
His spirit is still with us, and we, the crew of EyeCuba, think about him every day and, most importantly, laugh with him every day. Jorge was a renowned scientist who led Cuba’s cancer research and was awarded the country’s highest scientific honor. The same disciplined approach he applied to his science, he also applied to his photography, which made him a great craftsman and teacher. Kip has been a photographer for fifty years and has taught in workshops and colleges for forty years. He has produced photography trips to Cuba for over 2,000 people. “Jorge,” he says, “Gleaned more from our trips than any of our clients or instructors. He never missed a critique session or dawn patrol. He always had his camera and applied what he was learning every day. His energy was infectious.
Most importantly, his profound pride in his country and its people was unwavering, and with this came his sense of humor and an ability to recognize and celebrate the quandary that is Cuba.” When asked how things are going, Jorge would quip, “Great, wonderful, send reinforcements! Manda refuerzos!”
